Growing up in Iran, Mehrdad learned to appreciate fine art and unique art forms. After working with wood over the years, he begun woodturning, and knew that this was his passion. Working with domestic, salvaged and exotic woods gives him the opportunity to create functional and decorative woodturned art. He adds surface embellishments and carvings to his turnings which sets his creations apart from the rest.
