Space, landscape, and civilization are the driving forces of American life. The progress of industry and technology has dictated the shape of the landscape, generating space for freeways, houses and skyscrapers, mass underground transportation and electrical mapping. The aesthetic of this landscape is derived from the necessities of our daily lives, the places we occupy, and the spaces between.

My images are explorations of an integrated human presence in the land, the relationship between man and machine, and the cumulative effects of daily human life on our surroundings. My experience of space is represented by a series of objects and shapes that have become iconic of the development of civilization.
