College Art Scholarship Awards

College Art Scholarship ($1,000)

In February 2009 the Arts Council of Snohomich County will award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior planning further study in the arts field. Seven years ago we moved up the entry date from that of previous years so that the portfolios submitted could then be sent on to The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in New York for their Portfolio Awards and Scholarship Nominations competition. By doing so, more students are eligible for local recognition through the issuance of Regional Scholastic Gold and Silver Key Awards for outstanding porfolios. Local Gold and Silver Key Portfolio recipients and the ACSC Scholarship Winner will be honored at the Scholastic Art Award Ceremony on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. All students who enter our scholarship competition will have their portfolio sent on to New York. In addition to regional opportunities, students who are awarded national level Portfolio Gold Awards and Portfolio Silver Awards are considered for scholarships listed with the Alliance's website at www.artandwriting.org on the "Scholastic Art & Writing Awards" page.

Registration for the Scholastic Art Awards is online at registration.artandwriting.org. Application deadline: January 15, 2009 by 5:00 p.m., Historic Monte Cristo. A $20 processing fee is required.
